Bored?

Have you ever sat at home with nothing to do? Maybe SAT's are approaching and your vocabulary isn't as strong as you want it to be.

One of my favorite "learning" sites also doubles as a forum in which you can help others. Free Rice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program that allows you to answer questions in a variety of subjects like algebra, vocabulary, English grammar or world languages (to name a few). For every question you answer correctly, Free Rice will donate 10 grains of rice to the World Food Program in an effort to help end world hunger.

What I love about this site is the learning with a purpose aspect. An incorrect answer gives you the opportunity to see the "correct" answer with a chance to retain that information and retest yourself. There are also different levels offered, so an individual has the opportunity to start at their own appropriate learning level. After spending a while on the site, it's easy to answer enough questions to feed an entire village.

If you have a chance or some time to kill, check out www.freerice.com
